Western U.S. Parcel & Freight Delivery Company, GLS, partners with local non-profits to collect food and household items at Kent Chamber of Commerce Expo

KENT, WA (Sept. 24, 2019) – Western U.S. delivery company, GLS, is partnering with KentHOPE and Northwest Harvest to collect food and household items during the Oct. 15 Kent Chamber of Commerce Expo & Taste of Kent at the ShoWare Center.

GLS, which has served customers locally since it expanded into the Northwest in 2017, signed on as the Presenting Sponsor of the Expo to introduce its services to the local business community – and to give back to those in need.

Community members and businesses are invited to drop off non-perishable food and household items such as paper towels, toilet paper, wipes, trash bags, socks and deodorant at the Expo. The GLS team and its vehicles will be ready to accept donations in front of the ShoWare Center.

“We are committed to being an involved corporate citizen, to not only serve customers with a variety of delivery options providing flexibility to fit our clients’ needs, but to also support our local community,” said Andira Fara, Marketing Director at GLS. “We encourage the community to bring food and household items to the Expo. We’ll load them into our marked trucks and deliver them to the local non-profits that work so tirelessly each day to serve people who need help.”

The public and business community are invited to attend the Kent Chamber of Commerce Expo & Taste of Kent from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 15, 2019, at the ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St., Kent. GLS branded trucks will be there to collect food and household items for KentHOPE and Northwest Harvest.

“GLS is excited to be a Presenting Sponsor to introduce the South Sound business community to our parcel and freight delivery service and will have several team members available to discuss local business shipping needs at our exhibitor booth during the business expo. We provide expedited ground delivery throughout the Western United States, offering optimized ground delivery solutions compared to shipping by air without sacrificing time,” said Millie Tarallo, VP of Sales and Customer Success at GLS. “We view our delivery service as an extension of your company and are excited to continue expanding our partnerships with local businesses in the South Sound.”
